How this is calculated

Human Life Value estimates the total future contribution you’d make to your family’s finances if you continued working until retirement. It sums your annual household contribution over your remaining working years, increasing each year by your expected income growth rate. It is a widely used starting point for sizing protection, not an exact valuation of a person’s worth.

Assumptions used in this calculator

Factor Assumption
Remaining working years Retirement age − current age
Future contribution Annual contribution, compounded yearly at your growth rate, summed across remaining years
No discounting applied Figures are shown in nominal (future) rupees, not present value
Protection gap HLV minus existing life insurance and financial assets

Please note: This calculator provides an educational estimate based on the information and assumptions entered. It is not financial advice, an insurance quotation, an underwriting decision, or a guarantee of coverage. Human Life Value is one of several ways to think about protection needs — it is not a precise or universal financial valuation.
